Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag

Written by John Hopkins. Posted in Games

The world of Assassin’s Creed has always been dominated by intrigue, conspiracies and mysteries. These elements were present in all the game editions and they are definitely an important part of the Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. This latest edition of the game was declared the second best game of the year, after GTA V. However, these are two very different games and in our honest opinion, they are both equally good. Lets take a closer look at this latest Ubisoft release and see whether or not we can convince you to play it. As soon as Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag was released, it generated a lot of interested in the world of gaming, surpassing games such as League of Legends, so it’s not surprising to find out that, for a while, people stopped searching for skinsLoL in the detriment of Assassin’s Creed Strategies.
  • The plot
The storyline of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag is a little different from the ones of the previous Assassin’s games. It seems that the developers got tired of the Templar conspiracy, an idea which they have exploited for far too long. The main character is Edward Kenway, a rogue who sails to the West Indies in search of a fortune. We have a glimpse of the Assassins-Templar power struggle when the main character accidentally finds himself in a Templar crowd. Both the Templars and the assassins are looking for an ancient device which can find the location of anyone on the planet. Needless to say that our main character will see this as an opportunity to get rich as that device is obviously one of the most valuable things on Earth.
  • The environment
The world of Assassins creed is magical for people who enjoy exploring historical worlds. Black Flag benefits from stunning details which make this mystical world quite realistic. It has the classic elements of an open-world game featuring both combat and strategy. The open world also offers a lot of additional missions which can help develop the character in order to prepare them for the main missions. There are also a lot more hiding places which also contribute to the realism of the world. The world is expanded way beyond the barriers of land as players will also have the opportunity to explore the seas.
  • Features
The Black Flag is a third person free running mission game. The main character resembles the assassins through his agility and sneakiness. The overall game play is a lot less complicated than in the previous versions. The interfaces are a lot more user friendly especially the weapon selection. You have the ability of crafting pistol holders and armor upgrades. The crafting feature is uncomplicated and it can be very helpful in making the game less challenging. The combat elements have suffered a few transformation and they have made combat a lot more fluid. The appearance of the main character got gamers very interested and some hope they will see skinsLoL inspired from Assassin’s Creed soon.
  • Additions
The main features of the game are generally improvements of the past game elements. However, Assassin’s Creed IV also comes with new additions such as the ship-to-ship combat. A lot of the game-play occurs on the sea. The character’s ship has a consistent arsenal or cannons, swivel guns and chain shots. The Jackdaw can also be upgraded so the water combat elements are just as diverse as the land ones. You also have the opportunity of scouting the seas with a spy glass, searching for your next missions. Through the combats, ships can gain resources and cargo which can help the player improve the ship. The game also integrates the wreath of the sea and the players will often face terrifying storms. Black Flag is available on consoles as well as on the PC. As you can see from the elements described above, this game is packed with adventure. There’s a reason why its one of the best games of 2013. Beating the game requires both strategy and combat skills and it appeals to a wide variety of players.
